Things move slowly in Nerja

Spain has a reputation for Government and administration moving slowly, and Nerja Council is experiencing this at the moment.
The problem is the proposed New Nerja Fire Station. The project will be sited on the A-7 road, with land specifically allocated, and was approved in 2008, and involves an investment in excess of one million Euros. This will be financed by the Ministry of Interior.
However, the preoject managers, ther Provincial Fire Consortium are quoted as saying they do not know when the project will be put out to tenderw or when construction can actually begin.
Nerja Council are not amused, and have demanded that the process be speeded up.
